Piko (“Piko”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Piko may collect when you use the app, how that information is used, when it may be shared or processed by third parties, and the choices and rights available to you.

Piko is a real-time location sharing app for families, friends, and other trusted groups. The app supports English and Vietnamese.

• Account information: display name, email address, phone number if provided, and profile photo if you choose to upload one.
• Location data: current location, location update time, online/offline status, and location history when this feature is enabled.
• Group data: groups you create or join, administrator/member roles, group invitations, QR/PIN codes, and member nicknames.
• Device data: device type, app version, language, network status, and push notification token.
• Usage data: basic interactions with the app, error information, and analytics events used to understand and improve the product.
• Feedback: feedback, support requests, or other information you voluntarily send to Piko.

3How we use data

Piko may use relevant data to:

• Display your real-time location to members of trusted groups you participate in.
• Send notifications about invitations, group changes, and relevant app activity.
• Allow users to create, join, and manage private groups.
• Provide features such as temporary location hiding, location history, map caching, and battery-saving modes.

4Location sharing

Piko's core functionality is location sharing among members of trusted groups. Your location is used to provide this functionality and may pass through Piko's servers/backend to enable real-time synchronization.

• Your location is shared with members of groups you participate in, according to the sharing controls and status supported by the app.
• You can leave a group or use the temporary location hiding feature when you do not want your location displayed to the group.
• Location data may be processed through our backend and real-time connections to synchronize information between devices.

5Third-party services

Piko may rely on third-party technical services to operate. The services actually used may vary depending on Piko's configuration and version.

These providers may process certain data under their own privacy policies and terms. We encourage you to review the policies of the relevant providers when appropriate.

6Storage and security

Data may be stored on Piko's servers/backend, on your device, or within infrastructure operated by service providers used by Piko, depending on the type of data and functionality involved.

We use reasonable security measures appropriate to our systems, such as HTTPS connections, authentication tokens, and access controls. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7Data retention

• Account data may be retained while your account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service.
• Location history, when supported and enabled, may be retained for up to the most recent 30 days, depending on the actual system configuration.
• QR/PIN group invitation codes may have a short validity period and expire after the period defined by the system.
• When an account is deleted, personal data will be deleted or anonymized where technically feasible and as required by applicable law.

8Your rights

Depending on available app features and applicable law, you may be able to:

• View and update your profile information.
• Temporarily hide or resume location sharing.
• Leave a group you no longer wish to participate in.
• Delete location history if this feature is supported.
• Sign out of your account.
• Request deletion of your account and related personal data.
• Contact Piko with questions or requests concerning your personal data.

9Children's privacy

Piko is not directed to children below the age at which they may independently use such services under applicable law. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided personal information to Piko in a manner inconsistent with applicable requirements, please contact us so we can review and address it.

10International data transfers

Depending on the location of our servers and infrastructure providers, data may be stored or processed in a country or region different from where you live. Where this occurs, Piko will take reasonable measures to protect the data in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

11Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to Piko, the technologies we use, or applicable legal requirements. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will be revised when a new version is published.
